Have you ever felt shaky, dizzy, irritable, or suddenly anxious — and you don’t know why?
It might not be “just anxiety.”
It could be your blood sugar.
Blood sugar crashes can mimic anxiety symptoms and even trigger panic-like sensations.
⚠️ Common symptoms of a blood sugar crash
When your blood sugar drops quickly, your body releases adrenaline.
That can cause:
- heart racing
- dizziness
- sweating
- shakiness
- brain fog
- sudden anxiety
It feels like anxiety — because biologically, it activates the same stress response.
🥗 How to stabilise blood sugar for calmer mood
1️⃣ Never eat sugar alone
Pair carbs with protein or fat
Example: apple + peanut butter
2️⃣ Eat every 3–4 hours
This prevents adrenaline spikes.
3️⃣ Start the day with protein
Eggs, yogurt, nuts, or oats with seeds.
Balanced blood sugar = calmer nervous system.
🌙 Blood sugar and night anxiety
If you wake up at night with:
restlessness
It may be a blood sugar drop, not a mental problem.
A balanced dinner helps prevent this.
racing heart
hunger
anxiety
💬 Be gentle with your body
Your body isn’t broken.
It’s reacting to energy imbalance.
When you stabilise blood sugar, anxiety often becomes easier to manage.
